Filming continued this month
on DISPARUS, starring Vincent and Claire Borotra. Check
out this
youtube video showing the cast and crew dancing up a storm.
Some of the film was shot at a children's school in Piana, a small
French village in Corsica. The first photo was taken in Piana and
the other two are captures from the video mentioned above. The
two-part series is scheduled for release on TF1 in October 2014.
Just Temptation, a
European film music company based in Berlin, will
finance the original music of THE
PRICE OF DESIRE. The score is being composed by Golden
Globe-nominated Brian Byrne. He has been working on the music and
will return to to LA to work with Alanis Morisette on the song for
the closing credits. He is also working with Julian Lennon, who has
done all the stills for the movie.
On March 17th, Julie Depardieu presented a
60-minute documentary called "Guillaume D" as a tribute to
her actor brother who died October 13, 2008 at the age of 37 years
old. Among those who attended the premiere was Vincent and his wife.
The film, created by both Ms. Depardieu and Pierre-Henri Gibert, was
also telecast on French television on March 22nd. Guillaume was often called an enfant terrible by the
French magazine Paris Match and was called eccentric and bohemian by
others. In 1995, he suffered a
motorcycle accident which required him to have surgery on his knee.
In the hospital he contracted a Staphylococcus aureus infection in
the knee, which led to 17 operations and the eventual amputation of
the leg in June 2003. Guillaume was known to have had a strained
relationship with his famous father, which he detailed in his 2004
autobiography "Tout Donner" (Giving Everything). The two were said
to have reconciled shortly before his death. He died after
contracting severe viral pneumonia at a filming location, where he
had been working on a new film. Vincent worked with Guillaume (who
happens to be his stepdaughter's half-brother) in two films -
Peau d'ange and
Le Pharmacian de garde. |

I've been attempting to update
some of the film pages, some of which were originally posted fifteen
years ago. Yowser!!! Often new movie stills, posters and information
become available and time permitting, I try to add them to the VP
Archives. In the case of "Il Viaggio di
Capitan Fracassa" (1991), among the new acquisitions
for this film is this
gallery of portraits of a very young Vincent with his co-star
Ornella Muti. Be sure to check out the film
page as well.
FYI, you can purchase the
Blu-ray edition, which is region-free. The supplemental features
on the disc include the film's original theatrical trailer, new
video interviews with director Ettore Scola, cinematographer
Luciano Tovoli, and Vincent. Included are English & French
subtitles for the main feature.
Back in 2009, Vincent's
wife Karine starred in the comedy drama, "Je vais te manquer".
These portraits were taken on May 25, 2009 in Lille, France
where the film premiered.

French label Pathe has revealed that it plans to
release on Blu-ray acclaimed director Patrice Chéreau's
La Reine Margot aka
Queen Margot (1994). The release will be
available for purchase on May 7th. Ahead of the 20th anniversary of
the film's release, Pathé restored Queen Margot in 4K in 2013 and
entrusted the work, under the direction Chéreau, to Eclair Group for
the image and L.E Diapason for the sound. The new restoration was
screened in the Classics section of last year's edition of the
Cannes Film Festival.
Here are some photos of
Vincent's wife Karine at the Paris premiere of "American Bluff"
(aka American Hustle) on February 3rd.
